Microsoft launched the World Wide Telescope project this week.

Then go download, play, experiment, send to science teachers, and let the creativity begin!

  1. Jeff, I would like to share this with my readers. Is it okay? I can’t tell because of the licensing agreement above. It looks like a really cool site for science teachers.

  2. Personally, I prefer Stellarium…at first look, World Wide Telescope tries to cram in too much information, and it doesn’t give the user a good perspective of the sky in relationship to the ground. From the perspective of a student, it’s a bit confusing I do like the feature showing you what objects are in the portion of the sky you’re looking at, but I’d gladly give that up for the simplicity of Stellarium.
