Edublog Awards

Spending my morning rounding up my favorites of the past year for the Edublog Awards. Here are this year’s categories:

Best audio and/or visusal blog

Best group blog

Best individual blog

Most influential post, resource or presentation

Best library/librarian blog

Best newcomer

Best research paper on social software within learning and teaching

Best teacher blog

Best undergraduate blog

Best wiki use

I like this as it makes me look back at some of the interesting postings from the past year. Who’s made me think and who’s made an impact on the edublog world. Some of these I find easy and others I’m going to have to think about.

I started blogging in 2005 and found it such a powerful way to reflect and share my thinking about technology, this generation, and how we prepare students for their future not our past.

  1. Thank you Vicki! I’m honored! Classroom teacher? I’ll let you decided.

I teach 6 and 7 grade technology which is a core at our school.
I teach an elective that runs the site teentek.com
I am helping to implement a laptop program and Dana program in 5th grade where I am called “Technology Teacher”
In my spare time, I help over 400 teachers on two campuses 2 hours apart to implement the use of technology in their classrooms.

Does that qualify as a classroom teacher? I don’t know. I’m a technology teacher, but not sure if that falls into the classroom teacher category.

Just the thought counts….I don’t know what to say except I’m honored!
