This page has been a couple months in the making. One of my students is really into digital art. So at the start of teentek she was chosen to come up with a logo for the site. She first sketched a couple designs on a piece of paper. Then the teentek crew voted on the best design. Our ‘designer’ then […]
The middle schoolers of teentek, and all our middle schoolers for that matter, are HUGE into this flash game. Monday I couldn’t keep the boys off of it. Every time I turned aroundsomeone had it open and was playing it. So I took a step back into thecorner of the room and just watched (Seriously…I went and stood inthe corner!) […]
I love it when I find a group of students who are just passing their time on computers. I love watching them and asking them questions about what they are doing. So here’s what I learned from the Millennials today. – Myspace.com has been blocked by the China filter. But you can use this site to get around it.(Can be […]
I own Clarence Fisher another one. While surfing my PLN this morning I came across Clarence’s Verifying Information Online posting where he links to a document he used with his students to help them learn how to verify information. It’s perfect timing for me as I’m starting a lesson on searching this week with my 6th grade students. One thing […]
So Skype just updated itself on my computer and I can now SMS straight from Skype. It even works in China! I sent myself an SMS for $0.0055 at that rate, I can afford to send SMS messages. To the States just $0.112. That’s not bad! Now we just have to keep China from blocking it…keep your fingers crossed. I […]

The things that I feel went well and the things I think can be improved on for next year. First let me state, that I had nothing to do with the conference. My only contributions to the conference was allowing […]
Beth Gourley left a comment on our final podcast about questions that she has about our use of Internet sites at our school. Beth works in China as well so her questions have caused me to reflect. Please know Beth (and whoever else reads this) that the following is my thoughts on the matter and not necessarily the thoughts of […]
Our final LAN party podcast…kind of sad really. We discuss the conference in general, the LAN parties, and touch on Anne Davis’s keynote of Overcoming Obstacles. It was a great Saturday morning, taking part in a 2 hour Skype conversation as part of the When Night Falls Skypecast and learning and watching the presentations in the Overcoming Obstacles strand. Enjoy! […]
A 7 minute podcast about the Personal Professional Sessions. Enjoy!
I’ve forward this on to my math teachers. This is awesome! “Stand up if you have a cell phone with you today,†I announced last Wednesday in my algebra class. The excitement was visible. “Sit down if your phone does not have a camera,†I continued. Their disappointment was manifested in groans of various pitches and duration. I quickly paired […]
