What I’ve learned today
TweetI’m in the process of moving Moolde and our Blog site to a new dedicated server. Here’s what I’ve learned.
1. MySQL database files are hard to open in Notepad or Wordpad and do a find and replace on. Took me 2 hours just to change the the databases to the new domain name. (I suggest downloading a find and replace tool…there are many that are free or shareware you can download from the web.)
2. The downloading and uploading of files always takes longer than you expect.
3. Changing the DNS record on a domain name requires hours of patiences as it takes time to travel the DNS servers of the world.
So with me luck as I continue throughout this weekend to move the site. You can keep track of what I’m doing via my twitter account, or over there on my sidebar in the twitter plugin.
