Okay, I've always been inspired by the tech/learning talk, but now you are outright moving me. I have become a volleyball player over the years, but I still cling to my "first life" as a baseball guy. When I first found out I was going to be a father, the first thought that struck me, after OMG....I am going to play catch with my kid someday. She's not there yet and he's even further, but I'm ready. "Tossing the apple", playing catch...good times. It's a great game.

Less than 10 days to pitchers and catchers for my beloved NY Mets. My 15 year old is determined to regain her status as THE starting catcher on her high school team. It has been batting cages, clinics and hitting wiffle balls off a tee in the back yard since Christmas vacation. As the bumper stick says - softball IS life.

I don't play ball, and I've only ever watched one game when we visited the US. However, I know exactly what you're talking about. For us, it's cricket. I don't play that, either, but I have always has a passion for the sport, and my husband used to open the batting for a first division team when we were younger. Now he and our older son play together in the village team. The crocuses are starting to bloom. The daffodils are about 4 inches high. Birds are starting to migrate. It's coming. In England, too, it's coming!

Long summer days, sunshine (even in England!), the sound of leather on willow. It's coming!
