Passion based learning at it's best. How about re-classifying the roles? teachers become expert guides and students become novices ... change yourself and the change is noticed by others ... US has a much taller order than Australia when it comes to testing ... however, I'm finding that in a school that learns through projects, with guides who don't give the answers (or claim to have them) - novices do better on 'tests'. Learn to ask questions they can't Google, and the dynamics of learning changes. Nice work Chris!
