Conversation with PSU students

I’m wrapping up what will be the last grad course I’ll be teaching at PSU for awhile. Moving to a new country, a new job, and starting some other projects will be keeping me busy for awhile. I’ve really enjoyed teaching the course Teaching & Learning in a Networked Classroom. A course that is ran on an open wiki that explores how networked learning is changing our classrooms and exposes students to a host of web 2.0 tools.

Ad-Free Wikis for EducatorsTo wrap up this quarter I thought I’d do a podcast with the students on their final thoughts about the class. Kim, Sherry, and Patti have been so much fun this quarter and I think that comes through in the podcast. These three took the course and by the fourth week were off and running. In the podcast they all talk about different projects they have started because of this course and Kim even changed her final project based on what we were exploring.

Great stuff…head on over to On Deck to have a listen.

I started blogging in 2005 and found it such a powerful way to reflect and share my thinking about technology, this generation, and how we prepare students for their future not our past.

  1. Jeff, I was listening to podcast episode 11 and heard the references to ISB. What and where is ISB (my guess from your mention of Bangkok is International School of Bangkok)? I could probably find out by listening to earlier podcasts but it would be convenient if the acronym were IDed at the beginning of the podcast.
    Thanks.
I plan on sharing the podcasts with folks at my school.

    • Hi Tom,

Sorry about that. Yes ISB does refer to International School of Bangkok where I will be working next year. This year I am working at SAS Shanghai American School.

Thanks for the heads up I’ll try and remember to put the acronyms in the show notes next time.

Jeff, I feel so lucky that we got to have you as an instructor for this course. To think if I had waiting one more semester, which I had planned, I would not have had the pleasure of taking a course from an international teacher/blogger/web 2.0 user. I have learned so much and have had so much fun. You truly are a great teacher. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to try out all that I have learned in a classroom environment.

Thanks again for opening our minds and our tool boxes 🙂

    Sherry

Side Note: I got a USB Skype approved headphone and mic 🙂
