I recently joined imvu and I'll admit even after three or four years rebelling against the instant messaging because I don't know who the heck is really on the other end of the messaging window and even at twenty two it still unnerves me to no end. I found that I was almost easily sucked into the whole creating your own avatar thing. I joined and spend three hours on the imvu creating my own little 'world'. And in just the first few days of chatting I passed by quite a few kids--and by kids I mean 13-17. The site does mention that to join you need to be 18 or older, but since when has that mattered on the net. Anyway, just putting my two cents in.
