7 things you might not know about me

Lane 7, trackI got tagged with this thanks to Dean Shareski…I’ll play along in the spirit of my first day back to work.

1. In my first 9 years of teaching I only held the same position at the same school for two consecutive years.

2. Our two cats (now 11 yrs old) have Collen Powel’s signature on a visa entry form for Saudi Arabia

3. I’m a BSAC certified scuba diver with 80 dives under my belt.

4. The fastest I’ve ever driven is about 200km/h or 124mph in a Land Rover. It was flat, sandy, in Saudi and I got passed by a Mercedes.

5. When I met my wife I was wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and a shiny big buckle…and it wasn’t a costume.

6. I have collected 20+ Starbucks City mugs from countries around the world.

7. My perfect place in the world would be the city of Seattle, in the climate of Bali, on the coast of South Africa.

I started blogging in 2005 and found it such a powerful way to reflect and share my thinking about technology, this generation, and how we prepare students for their future not our past.

  1. I’m trying to picture you in your cowboy outfit! Hmmm – cute! My husband is talking about us trying to learn to dive (One of the things on our bucket list). We will be heading to Seattle in April so I will find out why you like that city. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hey Jeff…can you post some of those coast of South Africa pics somewhere? And, oh…about that cowboy stuff…My son got arrested on Halloween a few years back for being the “Naked (But he really wasn’t naked and thus was released later), Cowboy.” The cop was not a nice creature and called him all kinds of names…my guess? My son (And, thus you too), were doing something the cop wanted to do, but didn’t have the free spirit to do…such a shame that control freaks end up in positions of power. Keep riding that horse and one sunset after another maybe we will see some change in the world.
